- Dark green Czech molded glass toggle (aka gear) beads, 6mm diameter on short 12" strand
- These add interesting texture and coordinate with some Venetian glass beads
- Bohemian glass workers invented the button mold in 1732, but the didn't get around to making molded beads until 100 years later. They quickly developed the techniques for making colorful molded glass reproductions of anything people valued: animal teeth, coral, snake vertabrae, shells, charms, etc. These were especially popular in the African trade 1850-1900.
