Description

  • Vintage Inidan Silver fish shape beads with detailed and decorative repousse designs on both sides of the 30x17mm beads
  • The hole runs from mouth to tail
  • Fish symbolize abundance, prosperity, fertility and good fortune in both Hindu and Buddhist traditions
  • Repousee (from the French word to push) is the process of shaping and forming a raised design by tapping the back of the metal to push the design forward. In India a brass or bronze shallow mould is often made for popular designs. It depicts a negative of the design. Then a thin sheet of metal is tapped over the mold until the desired shape appears on the other side of the sheet of silver.
