8mm Rainbow Obsidian is a black obsidian, which when polished, and exposed to a strong light source, reveals bands of other colors.
These came to me from the Beadazzled Falls Church store and no doubt Pat and Mary knew more about these stones than I do, but I admit not having seen any color in these. It may just be that I don't have a strong enough light source.
Either way Black Obsidian is nice black stone, affordable, with many uses, and it has the reputation of cleansing negativity and supporting grounding
Rainbow Obsidian is recommended for "recovery from emotional wounds, and the journey from darkness into light."
