- Antique Bohemian opalescent faceted "moon" beads that seem to glow from within with a slight blue cast, like the moon
- These are no doubt modeled on large oval Indian moonstones aka white agates, that were popular in Mali at the time. Those had to come across the sea from India and then across the Sahara by camel caravan and were undoubtedly expensive. The Bohemian replica was evidently a big hit because you can still find them in African markets today.
