The Italian name for Chevron beads, rosetta, first appears in 1496
Chevrons were trade throughout the world, but especially to Africa, where they became "the aristocrat" of beads, worn by chiefs and other high status individuals, and were also considered somewhat magical.
These beads were made in Venice, most likely during the late 1800s to early 1900s
