Ganesha (aka Ganapti) is a much loved deity all over India and beyond, including in my family. He's also the patron of new beginnings and writers.
With his four arms Ganesha conveys blessings, offers sweets, shows his devotees the correct path with an elephant goad, and with a noose he either reminds us that worldly desires can be a trap, or draws devotees closer, depending on the interpretation.
