Set of 8 small Moroccan silver coins 14-17mm diameter
Some are worn so smooth you can't see the date, but others are marked 1299 and 1321 which equate to 1881 and 1903 in our calendar system.
Some show evidence of having had soldered on loops at one time. The rings currently in the coins are new.
Silver is considered auspicious in both Islam and among the Imazighen (Berbers) of Morocco, and coins have long served as pendants in the creative necklaces Moroccan women create for themselves.
