Powderglass King beads, black with amber, green and red decor 15x15mm
Making this style of bead in a clay mold is a real feat of ingenuity by Krobo bead-makers of Ghana. The beads are made in 2 cone shaped halves and then fused together. Getting spots of amber and green requires careful placement of small of pulverized amber and green glass inside the edges of the mold before the majority of the black powdered glass sifted in. The red line is achieved by adding a think layer of red at the top of top of each cone in the mold. It's such a lot of work, that the makers told me they aren't making them anymore.
The cost of the original antique Venetian King beads just keeps going up tho, so who knows. I decided to buy all the strands I liked and am offering them as strands here and in sets of 5. Of course the price per bead is lower when you buy by the strand. Find the strands at AFG-113
