Unlike some other powder glass King bead styles, in this case the surface designs are individually painted onto the surface with a mixture of powdered class, ceramic pigment and water. Then the beads get a final quick heating so fuse the pattern.  The makers have told me it's all too much work and they don't plan to make any more. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe cost of the original antique Venetian King beads just keeps going up tho, so who knows.
