Description
- These beads are priced and sold by the set of 3
- Blue lamworked beads are relatively rare and I've been lucky to acquire several with a recent collection. These beads have a white core with a thin layer of blue glass onto which the design is then added. It makes me wonder if for some reason blue glass was hard to make at the time these beads were made.
- Precious lapis lazuli was used to make royal blue paint, gold was needed to make the red used in the red glass for white heart beads, which had white or yellow cores.
- Whatever the reason these beads are both quite rare and attractive with some traces of white showing through the blue to lighten, and add interest to the design
- Made in Venice, Italy early 1800s.
