- Vintage lost wax cast curved pendant from Cameroon, 50mm long
- This pendant has only one loop, usually there are two, making these perfect for bracelets. If you wanted to use this as part of a bracelet you could drill a hole in the end without the loop to attach beads.
- Lost wax casting is done by first creating the shape of the item out of thins strands of bees' wax. The object is then coated with clay, leaving some openings. When the clay most is heated the wax melts and runs out. Then molten, recycled brass is poured into the clay mold. After it cools the mold is broken, the object removed, cleaned and polished. Every item is unique because each mold can only be used once.
