These are beautiful beads, but if you want to keep the gold look I recommend using them in jewelry, like earrings, rather than bracelets, to avoid excess friction
Gold plating outside the US, Europe and a few Asian countries is thin and doesn't last long. However, if treated well they'll keep their looks. I bought these in Ghana in the early 1970s, and they still look very nice.
