- These beads are priced and sold by the set of 5
- These antique Venetian beads combine lampworking and mosaic techniques. A few murrine (mosaic can slices) are scattered between amber lines on these brown beads 20x11mm
- The surfaces of these are a little rough, I suspect they've been too aggressively cleaned with chemicals and other rough treatments like being tumbled in a washing machine. I've reduced the price to compensate.
- Gentler methods for cleaning beads include soaking them in a bowl of warm water with dish liquid and scrubbing stubborn dirt with a toothbrush or nail brush.
- Placing them in a mesh bag, placing them so they won't move, and running them thru the dishwasher is a bit harsher, but does no physical damage in most cases.
- To restore some luster to the surface of the beads that have had harsh treatment I use a few drops of coconut oil in my palms and rub the beads between them.
- Unlike other oils, coconut is hard at room temperature, soaks into the tiny pores in the glass, and when applied as recommended will not seep out and stain clothes
