Description
- These beads are priced and sold by the set of 4
- These antique Venetian lampworked beads show how the same designs were created throughout the ages. Note the changes in the latticino ribbons that surround the green and white "eyes.
- At the lower right the most delicate of the "ribbons" also used pink white heart color glass with white.
- Top right the ribbons are now brown and white, but still very detailed. The brown line between the decoration is not a crack. The surface is smooth, I think the bead was accidentally scored while still semi-molten and the "wound" healed. It's only on one side and wouldn't affect a design much, but I've discounted this bunch anyway.
- Top left has a much less detailed "peppermint ribbon" version of the latticino cane and lower left has succumbed to wear and tear, losing some of the twisted cane. This bead also seems to have a spot where the "eye" was erased while the bead was still soft enough to erase the scrape so nothing can be felt on the surface of the bead today.
- All in all an interesting collector set, but also of some use for designers
- Price reflects the imperfections and wear.
