- These beads are priced and sold by the set of 5
- Antique Venetian lampwork "Kente" beads - named for the Ghanaian cloth they resemble. Large center bead 18x14mm and 4 long beads 21-24mm long
- All in very good condition, which is qute rare for these beads
- The name lampworking comes from the lamps (torches today) that artists use to melt the very thin rods of glass for applying decoration to the surface of beads.
- The bead cores were produced in the furnaces of larger Venetian glass workshops before being sent to artists working at home to decorate them. This explains the variations we see in similar designs produced over decades.
