- Vintage Venetian seed beads from the African trade, 5mm diameter on 24-inch strands
- These beads have relatively few black lines with a lot of white in between, which give quite a different effect from black and white beads in which the black and white lines a equal or black dominates with fine white lines.
- The vintage and antique seed beads are often less rounded than new seed beads, this may because they were cut from tiny canes, as these are, or because long term wear has flattened the ends.
