Description
- Matched set of 3 yellow antique Venetian rounded crumb beads
- Not exactly lampworked (altho one looks like the design was swirled) these are a way of using up leftover bits of glass at the end of the day, so they are also known as "end of day" beads
- Crushed glass is spread on the marvering slab and semi-molten bead cores are rolled over it picking up the glass chips. Sometimes they are left protruding from the surface. In this case they were marvered in for a smooth finish.
- These are more attractive than some "end of day beads" which can be quite messy
- Two beads 13x16mm and one smaller one, each with designs on both sides
- Made in Venice, Italy early 1900s for the African trade
- Only one available
- From the collection of Joyce Diamanti, world traveler, bead researcher, writer and educator.
