- These wild and wonderful spiral beads are priced and sold individually
- I think this sleek elongated shape is the most elegant. The beads in this group are at least 3 inches long and are 8-10mm in diameter
- These rare and dramatic coiled sheet brass beads come from the Gond or another Adivasi group in Orisha (formerly Orissa) state
- They are made of heavy, slightly domed, brass or bronze strips, which remind me of material heavy duty springs might be made of. I'm quite sure this metal, which must have been very hard to manipulate, was originally milled for a mechanical or industrial purpose. The Gond, or other makers, turned it into art.
- These beads are likely to go mostly to collectors, but I'm sure there are also some great designers who will know just what to do with them. You know who you are!
