- These beads are priced and sold in sets of 2
- Large dark blue oblates 15x18mm with 6 millefiori style can slices with concentric blue and white circles inset in each bead.
- These came to me as part of a collection I recently bought so I can't be positive but I'm pretty sure they are products of the growing glass industry in Java, Indonesia.
- Like many emerging artists the Indonesian glass bead makers imitated/replicated antique and ancient beads from their own culture, and later Venetian and Chinese beads as well. Eventually, they begin to create their own unique versions and that's what I think we may be seeing here.
- These beads have a silky smooth finish that replicates the feel of well worn antique trade beads. I have no idea how they manage that in a new bead but it's nice.
