Description
- Gold filled round gold-filled wire 16 gauge sold by the foot (12 inches)
- Gold filled wire is made by bonding a thick layer of gold over a core of copper or brass. According to US law the gold must be at least 5% of the total weight of the gold-filled product.
- By contrast, the gold in gold-plated products typically accounts for only 1%, or less, of the total weight of the product
- Dead Soft wire is ideal for wire wrapping, it's soft enough to bend even without tools
- The larger the gauge number, the thinner the wire. This means 16 gauge is quite thick and is used for wrapping larger objects, making clasps or connectors, etc.
