- Set of 15 slightly irregular vintage round semi-matte natural Malachite beads from Zaire. Sizes range from 10 to 18mm
- The shape and the finish are different from Asian cut and polished beads because at the time these were made (1960-70s) the tools and techniques for cutting and polishing beads in Zaire were far less sophisticated than those in Asia.
- If you like the slightly more "organic" look, these could be for you.
- Purchased in the late 1960 when we lived in Rwanda and sometimes ventured over the border into Zaire to climb volcanoes or see gorillas.
