- One 16-inch strand of vintage round natural Malachite beads from Zaire. Sizes range from 5 to 13mm diameter
- These are closer to perfectly round than most bead from Zaire, but the shape or drilling does vary. At the time these were made (1960s-70s) the tools and techniques for cutting and polishing beads in Zaire were far less mechanized than those in Asia
- If you like the slightly more "organic" look, these could be for you.
- Purchased in the late 1960s when we lived in Rwanda and sometimes ventured over the border into Zaire to climb volcanoes or see gorillas.
