- Rhodochrosite coin shape, slightly puffy with rounded edges, 18mm diameter beads on 16-inch strand
- What is showing up here as spots would e banding if the stone were cut differently
- The name comes from the Greek referring to it's rosy color
- The most important deposits are found in South America
- Three types are widely appreciated: some prefer the brighter, more translucent and more uniform varieties (see also GMS-106) while others admire the banding characteristic of this stone (see GMS-108) an a few like the pink mixed with black (see JSD-1389 and JSd-1390)
- According to metaphysical sources, most pink stones relate in some way to love. Rhodochrosite's energies are said to focus on the self for emotional healing, releasing and recovering from wounding.
