Mini ancient white and grey finely banded agate pendant, 11x17mm
Hole runs left to right just below the top edge
This Islamic Era (700-1400 AD) stone amulet was most likely created in ancient Syria for the Muslim community. They are sometimes called Sulemani amulets and come in black and white as well as grey and white and in different sizes. This is among the smallest I've seen. The design is always the same, flat sides and top with a wavy bottom. I don't know the specific symbolism for this amulet
I'm posting it to the ancient glass collection as well as gemstones because I suspect interested collectors are more likely to find it in the small ancient glass collection than the huge gemstone colliection
