- These beads are priced and sold as sets of 2
- Set of 2 Bird bead replicas. At least I think so. (Certified original ancient ones go for $400 +) I'm posting these in the Ancient glass section for comparison only.
- Very dark blue or black glass base 16mm diameter. Each has an off white bird on one side and sun or starburst on the other. A figure 8 trailed design wraps around both. The two photos show the two sides of both beads. They have large holes.
- I bought these in Indonesia in January 1992 so they are at least 33 years old. I haven't been able to handle one that I know for sure is an original, so I don't have anything to compare these presumed copies to. Several generations of copies have apparently been made. Some hundreds of years ago, some 20-70 years ago
- The originals have been found in Indonesia in association with the original Jatim beads, on the SE Asian mainland, and are believed to have connections to ancient India and the makers of Indo-Pacific beads. Possible dates 300-900 AD.
