The white core is wrapped in amber glass then stripes of red, white and gold aventurine glass (copper particles in clear glass) are drawn into v shapes with a tool while the glass is still molten.
This technique has been know and used since ancient Egyptian times, exported worldwide in Venetian trade beads, and remains popular today.
