- "Fumed" bead capped with silver 22x29mm, This unknown artist was clearly accomplished in both glass and silver - the bead resembles some of the pictures from galaxies far away with swirling unearthly colors...Great collector piece or a fabulous focal bead
- Fuming refers to burning precious or other metals/material and directing the vapor onto the glass beads. Fuming with gold gives a pinkish color and silver makes white, blue or yellowish fumes. I think this bead must have been fumed with copper, cobalt or manganese to make these amazing colors.
