Description
- Large Oblate (flattened round) "Batik Bone" beads with incised stripes
- These are beautiful "old stock" beads with crisp design, well fitted wood cores, and rounded curved shapes aren't technically Batik bone
- Rather than having dark brown or black designs applied to the surface with a batik (wax resist) process, these were dyed completely brown, then white lines were carved tough the dyed surface to expose the white bone underneath.
- I haven't seen this type for decades, only two available
- Beads average about 15-x22mm
- Strands about 22-inches, 40 beads
- The beads have wooden plugs inside the bone and the hole is drilled through the wood. The plugs can be revmoved if you want huge hole beads
