- Antique Venetian millefiori beads with rare light blue-violet color paired with the more familiar amber, brick and white. 23x10mm
- These beads are also notable for their square cross section shape, which involve the extra steps of pressing the semi-molten beads on all 4 sides to create into that shape
- Finally, if you look closely you can see that the boundaries between the rings of color are quite jagged. This is because the canes that were later sliced to decorate these beads were painstakingly assembled from hundreds of tiny glass rods, wrapped tightly into a bundle and then fused. This tells us that these bead are among some of the earliest examples of millefiori art a third reason they are both collectible and decorative.
