- Stricktley speking the term "watermelon" should only refer to pinched green or teal chevron beads of more or less this shape, however the name is now so widely mis-applied that there's no use trying to correct it.
- Whatever the name, these are useful spacer beads, great for bracelets because they are flat and also nice in earrings.
- They work wll with other African trade beads as well as assorted glass and gemstone beads and metal
