  • These beads are priced and sold individually
  • Round beads most 24mm in Diameter with a sliver of the ends of each bead removed - possibly in a bid to make them look more like the. oblates antique amber beads so popular in West Africa. 
  • These are from Kenya and are better quality that many large imitation amber beads. The color is right and quite natural, featuring darker areas near the ends .
  • They look matte in the. primary image, but the shine is visible in the second.
  • Although they qualify as vintage (more than 20 years old) these are much newer than some of the other African Amber listed in this collection, which are very close to antique, being 80-90 years old. 
  • These beads were made for the African trade probably in Turkey, Greece, the Middle East or India. All of those places have a long tradition of amber and amber simulations used in jewelry, worry beads, or prayer strands.
