Description

  • 18-inch long strand of bangle fragments drilled to become beads. This alone is quite a feat because the beads are curved.  See GLA-1 where drilling from both ends is obvious in the more translucent beads on that strand.
  • Most are semi-opaque sea green glass - the color of natural glass, before people learned how to make clear class, or add colors. Some have decorative stripes or spots of amber, black or brown glass.
  •  Only one available. For a more elaborately colored one see GLA-80
  • These were coming out of Afghanistan in the 1990s, but could have originated in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan or even further into Central Asia.
  • Generally classified as Roman (1st to 4th century AD) or Islamic Era (7th to 12th century AD) glass.
