- Bohemian Antique opalescent "moon" beads in faceted oval shape 40x12mm
- One 27-inch strand with 17 perfect beads
- Made in Bohemia (Czech Republic today) in the 1800s for the African trade
- These are no doubt modeled on large oval Indian moon stones that were popular in Mali at the time. Those had to come across the sea from India and then across the Sahara by camel caravan and were undoubtedly expensive. The Bohemian replica was evidently a big hit because you can still find them in African markets today.
