Description
- These beads are priced and sold as a set of 3
- Mini collector set of 3 beads all in Moon Glass: 1 claw, one large lightbulb and one small lightbulb. Large lightbulb measures 14x25mm
- They are components from an African "Wedding Bead Necklace" See: AFT-171 for example.
- This set includes 1 clear "lightbulb" and claw and 2 Moon (aka Milk) lightbulbs
- Made in Bohemia (now Czech Republic) during the 1800s to early 1900s
- Traded to Africa where they became especially popular among the Fulani of Mali.
- I've heard two stories about why they are called Wedding beads: a) they are passed from mother to daughter at the latter's marriage, b) they are worn by drummers who perform at Fulani weddings.
