Indian "batik bone" diagonal & spiral design, white on dark brown
4x12mm slices on 17-inch Strands
These work well with natural bone, African Batik Bone, wood and brass beads
The Batik process, used originally as method for decorating fabric, involves coating the areas that are to remain white with wax. Then the beads are dipped into dark brown or black dye to color the un-waxed parts. The wax is then boiled off, the beads are cleaned and strung.
In this case I think the beads are dyed dark brown and then the designs are carved into the, through the brown surface to expose the white underneath.
I can cut these strands and sell them in sets of 10, all you have to do is drop me a note with the stock number, and if I have enough strands I'll make a new entry with smaller quantities for you.
