- Strand of 21 Ghana lost wax cast "beehive" lost wax cast beads, sizes range from 19x15mm to 20x15mm in soft rectangular shapes. Red and black glass spacers complete the strand.
- These beads have a softly textures surface without any sharp points or snags
- To make a lost wax cast bead, first it has to be created in bee's wax. Not an easy task in a tropical climate. Next, the wax is covered by fine, wet, clay, Once it's dry, the clay mold with the wax inside is heated so the wax runs out through openings left for that purpose.
- Molten recycled metal is poured into the mold. After cooling, each clay mold is broken open and the individually unique bead is removed, cleaned, and polished.
- It's a laborious and convoluted process and small flaws are nearly inevitable, but have hardly any. Only one bead is affected.
