- Made in Ghana by the laborious lost wax casting method
- To make a lost wax cast bead, first it has to be created in bee's wax. Not an easy task in a tropical climate. Next, the wax is covered by fine, wet, clay, Once it's dry, the clay mold with the wax inside is fired so the wax runs out through openings left for that purpose.
- Molten recycled metal is poured into the mold. After cooling, each clay mold is broken open and the individually unique bead is removed, cleaned, and polished.
- It's a laborious and convoluted process and small flaws are nearly inevitable yet remarkably every bead on this strand is fine, truly remarkable!
