  • Metal that most likely arrived in west Africa in the form of Manilla bracelets was transformed into beads, pendants, gold weights, statues and more. 
  • In this case it was re-incarnated into a bracelet, but of African design this time
  • Lost wax cast like the beads of Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire, this bracelet has traditional moon designs near the opening and twisted or braided rope motifs around the outside. Antique bracelets were used as currency in West Africa into the 1940.
  • It can be worn, but might look best in your collection, or on your desk. If you do wear it, don't swing your arms wildly, you could hurt someone - it weighs 1.3 pounds!
