- Awalleh (aka Awale) light blue and brick brown chevron type beads 5x8mm on 18-inch strand
- Made in Venice, Italy mid 1800 to early 1900s
- These simplified versions of a chevron bead consist of 3 or 4 layers: light blue, brown, light blue, or light blue, brown, light blue dark blue.
- This strand has only a few of the 4 layer version. They look like light blue beads with dark blue stripes - the light blue is te points of the star showing through the outer dark blue layer. Only in rare instances when the ends are ground do you see the full chevron beauty of these beads
- The rest, with three layers, look like light blue beads with brown stripes where the points of the brown star show through the second light blue layer.
