S-hooks are my favorites due to their symmetrical design, sturdiness, and many size and decor variations. They are almost always forged, which work-hardens them while retaining enough flexibility to open one side just enough to slide the ring on and off
Be sure to keep the other side tightly closed so you don't lose the clasp
