- Glass, wood, bone, brass, lightweight 28 inches long
- Slightly convex rectangles and oblates (8x12mm) by Grace Ma reminded me of desert rock formations so I mixed them with Indian ivory colored bone rondelles, light warm beige wood rondelles and Czech glass black rondelles for contrast.
- To give it a little spark and echo the rectangular shape, I added four lost wax cast rectangles from Ghana, plus some brass rondelles and a brass clasp hand forged in Indonesia.
- I've taught myself some color theory and shared what I've learned with students, but when it comes right down to it I always feel like the beads tell me what they want to be paired with and I just follow that.
