Graduated set of 15 antique Venetian glass "crumb" beads
Largest bead 13x14mm, smallest 9x10mm
What to do with leftover glass at the end of the day? Apparently some of it was crushed, spread on the marvering table, and semi-molten cores rolled over it so bits of the glass got embedded into the core, but not completely melted, leaving textured surface.
We've seen plenty of rather messy "end of day" beads, but somebody took special care with these to mix just the right proportions of red and amber glass, make the crumbs just the right size, and leave enough of the black showing through to create contrast with the bright colors. Genius.
If somebody doesn't buy these soon I may just have to keep them and make a necklace out of them myself!
