- Vintage Dogon belt composed of leather base with attached well-worn and probably antique brass "crowns" and finely worked shell sections.
- Being far from the ocean, these shells were valuable trade goods in desert-like Dogon country.
- Collected in Mali in 1971 by Joyce Diamanti, bead collector, researcher, writer, editor and educator.
