Dark blue Dumortierite was named after the French palentologist Dumortier and is found mostly in Brazil, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, France, Poland and North America.
Generally darker than Sodalite, which can look a lot like well-worn denim, Dumortierite is usually a more solid navy blue color, although it too can have some lighter blue, or white, inclusions.
Try pairing it with lighter blues such as blue lace agate, or adjacent turquoise
