Yin Yang Charms, antiqued gold-plated pewter, 12mm diameter
The symbol represents duality and the inter-connectedness of the world, particularly the natural world, where opposite characteristics can exist in harmony and complement each other.
The dark side represent yin and the light side represents yang, but neither is absolute. The small dot of the opposite color within each swirl represents trace elements of the other - some yin within yang, some yang within yin.
Made in the USA by Tierracast, a much loved and highly respected casting company based in California. They were famous for their lead-free and non-allergenic metals, fine finishing, and attention to detail. Sadly they closed their doors late last year after 45 years of serving bead stores and designers.
