Description
- Garnet with green, brown, and tan colors. Flat oval shape, 16x22mm on 16-inch strands.
- Garnet is most commonly thought of as red, but it can be a variety of different colors including green, amber and rarely, blue.
- Grossular garnet is a group that contains Tsavorite (from Kenya) and African Green Garnet (from Mali).
- According to Robert Simmons "the name is derived from the Latin word for gooseberries, because of the similarity of the colors of the berries and certain light-green Grossular Garnets."
