Description
- Tiny faceted 2mm (or smaller) round Labradorite beads on 13-inch strands
- There's not a lot of material in these strands, but the amount of labor needed to drill and facet these beads is mind boggling.
- These have more fire than GMF-256 although it doesn't show up well in images.
- Round faceted beads, especially small ones are getting harder to find. If you like them get these now at pre-inflation prices.
-
Labradorite is named after the Labrador Peninsula in Canada where it was first found in 1770, although it didn't become widely popular until centuries later.
-
Than and now it's prized for its "fire" (aka labradorescense) which gives of intermittent flashes of blue, green, gold or other colors depending on the light.
-
It's also found in Canada, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia and the USA
- Robert Simmons writes that labradorite is "the gemstone of magic, and it awakens in those who carry or wear it the awareness of one's innate magical powers" enhancing these abilities, including intuition, clairvoyance, telepathy, and other psychic abilities.
