The labor to make these beads is almost unimaginable, but I've met, and seen the guys who make them at work, under very primitive conditions. For example their drill was powered by a man peddling bicycle!
In fact these beads were commissioned by an archeologist interested to learn how similar beads were made in Ancient India and Pakistan, and simultaneously hoping to damage the market for similar-looking beads looted from ancient sites.
These were bought nearly 20 years ago, similar strands are still available, but none this tiny.
