- Lovely, simple, subtle antique Venetian trade bead with chevron murrine 32x12mm
- Amber, brick and white, this pattern looked at first like a bundled cane design but on closer inspection I see it's actually a chevrons, just slightly softened as the murrine change shape when pressed onto the bead core
- I often don't see the dust/dirt that has accumulated on these old beads until I seem them in the enlarged photos! By they it's too late to wash and reshoot them, but I assure you this bead will look even better if you give it a warm bath with dish soap, dry it and if you want to be really nice to it, give it a massage with a drop or two of coconut oil. DO NOT use other oils.
- Coconut is the only one that won't turn rancid or (if used in moderation) will soak into the bead and turn solid and never stain clothing
- Made in Venice, Italy for the African trade, early to late 1800s
