- These beads are priced and sold as a set of 2
- 27x12mm and 35x12mm
- Rare use of mosaic cane being laid down parallel to the perforation rather than being applied in slices.
- On the larger bead you can see the effect: in this case it looks like a flaming comet streaking across the bead. Its starry face show at the bottom. And fyi the black next to it is not a chip, it's the black core of the bead peeking thru.
- On the smaller bead the longitudinal cane isn't quite so dramatic, but nevertheless presents an interesting contrast to the neatly controlled circles inside circles murrine.
- Made in Venice, Italy for the African trade, mid- to late 1800s
